The IX lenses are made to use the Nikon F mount, but have a limted image circle – sized to just cover an APS-c image sensor, Nikon made them with a deep plastic collar to prevent them from mounting on a 35mm camera body. They should work with the D70. There were very mixed reviews on these lenses so let us know what you think. It was only 150 US brand new and the second year this lens was out prices had fallen to around 100
I’d probably go with an AI ir AI-s lens and focus manually before I would go with an IX Nikkor but thats just me I feel they were better made lenses
